Buhara DemirHow I work
Marketing, as I run it, is a solutions team: the company sets the goal, we find the way there, and the way may leave the frame when the frame is the problem. I stay close enough to the systems to test strategy in production. AI is how the newer ones get built, not the reason they exist.
I lead the marketing team and direct several external agencies. Most weeks I am also in the code, because the fastest way to know whether an idea survives contact with reality is to build the first version yourself.
That is a preference, not a principle. Meetings that decide something are worth the hour. Meetings that describe what someone could have built in that hour are not.
None of it is a solo act. It works because Ümit Tenekeci and Ahmet Özbek set the goal and trust the route, and because the team and several agencies carry more of the daily work than a website can show. My part is spotting what is broken early, finding the smart way through, and delivering past the brief.
The operating model behind it is a page of its own: how I run marketing. It asks for a code.
The limits of that are their own subject: why the first version needs one person and the second needs a team.
Buhara DemirBackground
Studied linguistics and semantics, then business administration and marketing. Sixteen years in, I build retrieval systems, closer to the first degree than it looks.
The path ran through an agency I still run, Conceptio Branding, and then to airtuerk, which put me where I wanted to be: close to airline partners and to the technical side of distribution: flight content, APIs, XML, cache. Marketing that sits next to the pipes rather than downstream of them.
